FACE THE ACE(S) - EVENT #6
With three other tournaments wrapping up today, the 1k's flying under the radar a bit, as players in this event return Sunday.
A quick scan of the room and there's no massive chip stacks, but one player is closing in on the 200k mark. Alex Santiago (W. Hartford, CT) takes his time in making a river bet of nearly 27k. The board is [5,3,6] [J] [A] with three clubs.
After mulling it over, Dan Buzgon (Mt. Laurel, NJ) makes the call and mucks after Santiago turns over pocket aces for a set.
The big pot takes Santiago to 175k and is more than 3.5 times the average stack of 50k.
Tournament officials are breaking another table, as the field thins to less than 90 players.
Players are on Level 10 (600/1200/200 ante).
