ZINGER BY BINGER

Championship Event

Binger & Blanda

Lots of recognizable names are in the field including Michael Binger (Delray Beach, FL), the third place finisher of the WSOP 2006 Main Event. On the first hand back from break, from the button, he tells fellow pro Bill Blanda (Galveston, TX), "if it folds to me I'm raising with any two cards," this while the big blind is absent.

"That's okay, I'll call you dark," Blanda says from the small blind.

The hand plays out exactly as hoped, Binger raises, Blanda calls. After a bet and call on the flop, Binger leads out again on the turn, Blanda mulls it over and folds showing (A J).

"Why didn't you reraise me?" Binger asks showing pocket queens.

"Just sick," Blanda says shaking his head.

Also at the table is Brent Keller (Horsham, PA), the 7th place finisher in the HOSE (Event #11), "I liked my table when I first sat down, but there was an empty seat. Then Michael Binger showed up, so I didn't like it as much."

Level three (75/150) continues.
