WPT BORGATA POKER OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP
In one of our biggest pots of the day, former chip leader Maurice Hawkins has left the tournament.
After spending the last 15 minutes in an entertaining, often loud discussion with Jeremy Brown to his left he found himself in deep trouble against Olivier Busquet to his right. After a pre-flop battle they both had their stack in the middle and tabled their cards.
"Whoops!" was the immediate reaction from Hawkins when he saw his AQ was far behind the AA of Busquet. There was zero help on the flop or even a decent sweat. It took awhile to count down both stacks but Busquet had Hawkins barely covered. Hawkins goes from one of the top stacks to the cage to pick up his cash.
Busquet moves over 4,000,000. Hawkins picks up $28,218 for 13th place.
