Tony "Bagels" Cavezza (Huntington Station, NY) is sent to the rail when his (A 8) goes up against the pocket aces of Mark Weinstein (Long Island, NY).
Cavezza, who finished third in Event #3 at the Borgata Winter Open, puts 20k in preflop and sees a board of (10 8 5). Weinstein bets enough to put his opponent all-in, Cavezza makes the 50k call and sees he's way behind with middle pair.
"It surprised me because we only playing good cards," says one player at the table.
"Other than that one hand, I've been patient," says Weinstein who's unofficially the chip leader with 150k.
Right on his heels is John Costello (Bayonne, NJ), who used pocket kings to double to 75k just after the dinner break and has steadily climbed to the 150k range.
"It was funny, I laid down pocket queens to pocket aces right before the break," says Costello, "and then on one of the first hands back, I pick up pocket kings."
81 players remain with an average stack of 47k as Level 11 play continues (800/1600 ante 200).
