LADIES "CHAMPION"

1st, Abraham Korotki - $20,982

They only play a few hands heads-up, when Abraham Korotki eliminates the last remaining woman, Nicole Rowe to win the Ladies Championship.

Rowe bets 200k preflop, Korotki raises to 600k. Rowe shoves all-in, which Korotki calls. Rowe tables (A 9) vs. Korotski's (10 10). The board is no help to Rowe and she's eliminated in second place.

"I wanted to win the title," says Rowe who earns $11,889 for second place. "I came in second already," referring to her finish in the Ladies event at the 2007 Borgata Winter Open. "I can't believe I lost a ladies event to a guy."

This finale was the last thing the ladies in the field wanted to see, but Korotki was respectful after 16 hours of play.

"It's always nice to win a tournament," says Korotki, who takes home $20,982. "The ladies played very well and it's always nice for the weaker sex to have a victory."

Korotki says he's going to split his winning's between three, yet determined charities. The causes will focus on breast cancer research, children and animals.

  1. This is ridulious! Why have a "Ladies Event"? I feel Nicole should have won this tournament! This is not discrimination!!!.Mr. Korotki should be ashamed and disqualified The Borgata should not hold Men or Women Only events ever again. I am disgusted and not at all amused by Mr. Korotki. I'm am not sure what his gains are in this arena. His self-deprecating comments only increases this writers dislike of his character. My only hope is perhaps Mrs. Rowe will know that I and proud of her accomplishment and I wish her a fast and finite recovery from this devastating disese.

  2. Abraham dont't take any crap from anyone.... You won fair and square.... I don't recall there ever being a MENS only tournament but, Im sure if there was one there would be plenty of women up in arms over it.
By the way. I watch you play and I even watched you knock out my girlfriend. You were very gracious, respectful, and a true gentlemen.
    ENJOY YOUR VICTORY.

  3. Congratulations Abraham. I also found you respectful and dont think you entered looking to prove anything, but just to play poker. I believe that a lot of people went on tilt over it, and might have faired better against you if they had kept cooler heads. It was the most controversial and incident-filled Ladies event I have ever been to, and we will be talking about it for a long time!

  4. I do hope he contributes his winnings to charity like he has indicated. Then none of us should feel bad that he won. If he doesn't, then that is a different story.
