QUICK CHANGE
It doesn't take long for Paul Volkwine to go from chip leader to short stack. On the second hand back from break, Volkwine limps in early position and is raised by Wayne Mernone (Lawrenceville, NJ). Volkwine shoves, putting Mernone in the tank.
After mulling it over, Mernone calls and sees his (A K) is way ahead of Volkwine's (K J). The board offers no help and Volkwine ships 300k to Mernone, who's now the chip leader with more than 600k.
Volkwine loses another hand and more than 400 of his 550k stack.
Other notes:
Heather Sue Mercer (New York, NY) is the last woman standing and busts in 19th place, good for $2,184.
Steve Fiorentini continues to build is stack north of 500k.
Fans of William Hill (Silver Spring,MD) are impressed with his resurrection. After starting the day 45th out of 46 in chips, he's at the final two tables with 200k, below the average stack of 315k.
Blinds are up 6k/12k/2k ante (Level 18)
